Humbly achieving great things

Jason Yang already had an impressive list of accomplishments on his resume when he graduated from The University of Winnipeg in 2016 with his Bachelor of Business Administration (4-yr).

In addition to making the Dean’s Honour List – Student of Highest Distinction, Yang also received the prestigious Sir William Stephenson Scholarship and the highly sought-after Great-West Life Scholarship and Work Placement. Following graduation, he was immediately hired by Great-West Life as a senior business analyst.

Outside of the classroom, Yang was heavily involved in several student associations and volunteer initiatives, including serving as President of the Golden Key International Honour Society (UWinnipeg Chapter).

Among his many accomplishments, Yang also established a tutoring service for business subjects in 2014, after writing a proposal and securing funding for the program.

An example of his positive impact on the University community, Yang was chosen to be the valedictorian during the Fall 2016 convocation — during which, his message to fellow students was simply "be humble."
