The Value of a Graduate Degree, or “Can I Get a Job With That?” Panel

Fewer than half of those who earn a PhD ever become professors. The Faculty of Graduate Studies invites you to a discussion with a panel of UW alumni who chose to engage in alternative academic careers after receiving doctoral degrees.  There are options outside the academy!

Featured panelists include:
Dr. Annette Trimbee, President and Vice-Chancellor of The University of Winnipeg
Dr. Jennifer Frain, CEO for New Directions for Children, Youth, Adults and Families
Dr. Barbara Doran, Administrative Officer for the Provost and VPA at UW
Dr. Zbigniew Gryz, Sunlife Financial Advisor
Dr. Stephen Borys, Director and CEO of the Winnipeg Art Gallery

Dr. Mavis Reimer, Dean of Graduate Studies, will facilitate the discussion.  Please join us on November 25th, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Eckhardt-Grammaté Hall to discuss the diverse career options available to those who hold graduate degrees, and the important contributions they make to society.

We encourage you to RSVP to d.england@uwinnipeg.ca if you plan to attend but drop-ins are welcome!
