"Indians Wear Red": Colonialism, Resistance, and Aboriginal Street Gangs is by University of Winnipeg professors, Jim Silver and Larry Morrissette, and University of Manitoba professors, Elizabeth Comack and Lawrence Deane. Jim Silver is Chair of UWinnipeg's Department of Urban and Inner-City Studies and Larry Morrissette is a Contract Faculty Member in the Department.

The book locates Aboriginal street gangs in the context of racialized poverty in the city's North End, and in the ongoing impacts of colonization, and draws upon extensive interviews with members of Aboriginal street gangs. The book title, "Indians Wear Red," refers to a quote from one of the individuals interviewed in the book.

The book launch will take place on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at McNally-Robinson in Grant Park at 7:00 PM.
