Arts Faculty Award recipients announced

The Faculty of Arts celebrates faculty excellence annually with two awards: one for teaching, and one for research, scholarship, or creative activity.




The Achievement in Scholarly or Creative Award is given for a singular achievement in research or creative activity during the academic year. The recipients for 2015-16 are:

  • Probationary or Term Appointment – Bruno Cornellier (ENGL)
  • Tenured or Continuing Appointment – Margaret Sweatman (ENGL)

The Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award recognizes teaching excellence in classroom teaching and in the development of innovative teaching methods along with support for and mentoring of students. The recipients for 2015-16 are:

  • Probationary or Term Appointment – Helen Lepp Friesen (RHET)
  • Associate Professor or Continuing Instructor – Jonathon Franklin (SOC/CJ)
  • Full Professor - Lisa Sinclair (PSYC)
