New Students

Congratulations on your admission to the Faculty of Education! Our faculty is known for its innovative programming, quality instruction, and commitment to developing capable, caring, and confident teachers. Together, our faculty, staff and students create a vibrant learning community that fosters academic achievement, personal growth, and professional development. We are pleased to have you join us, and look forward to supporting you on your journey to becoming a teacher!

Orientation and Advising

We recognize that beginning a new program can be both exciting and a little overwhelming. Most new students must attend an orientation before registering for classes. At the orientation, an advisor will review the requirements for your program, and offer suggestions to help you choose your courses for the upcoming year. If an orientation is not mandatory for your program, you are strongly encouraged to book an appointment with an advisor before registering for courses.

Deposit

Students admitted to the five year Integrated program and to the two year After Degree program (not including the Joint UW/RRC Programs) must submit a $125.00 deposit to secure their acceptance. Generally, this deposit must be submitted within ten days of your acceptance. The deposit will be applied toward Winter term tuition fees.

Criminal Records Check

All students who have been accepted must submit and be cleared on a formal Criminal Record Search Certificate (for Vulnerable Sector Search), and submit and be cleared on a formal Child Abuse Registry check before admission can be finalized. Applicants who have a criminal record should also be prepared to present an official fingerprint search/disposition. Further information
