Academic Enhancements

The University of Winnipeg is known for academic excellence, with teaching and research that adds value and depth to our broader community. Opportunities exist to support this mission through “named” community and corporate Chairs. A research or teaching Chair is a senior professorship granted to an academic who has attained preeminence in his or her field. The researcher also attracts and mentors undergraduate and graduate students and emerging scholars. Through generous donor funding, the professor receives additional resources and time to focus on a specific research area or project.

The donor and UWinnipeg enter into a collaborative dialogue on areas of research of mutual interest through a Memorandum of Understanding. Research and teaching Chair donors are recognized for helping to advance knowledge in our community as a responsive corporate citizen.

If you would like more information about the Chairs available for community and corporate support, please contact Javier Schwersensky by email at j.schwersensky@uwinnipeg.ca or by phone at 204.786.9993.
