Athletic Director Doran Reid Announces Retirement

After more than 27 years of dedicated service to Wesmen Athletics, Doran Reid will be retiring as Athletic Director at the end of June to explore other opportunities in Ottawa.The University of Winnipeg offers a sincere thank you and congratulations to Doran Reid. Dave Crook has been named Acting Athletic Director.

Doran received his BA from the University of Winnipeg in 1981. He began his career in Athletics in 1989 at the Duckworth Centre Service Desk.  From there he moved on to coordinate and then manage athletics facilities and events. He followed that by taking on all functions related to the operation of the Duckworth Centre and Wesmen Athletics, first as Associate Athletic Director, then as Acting Athletic Director, and in 2009, after a formal search, he was appointed Athletic Director.

Effective July 1, Dave Crook, former Coach and currently Manager of Marketing and Sponsorship for Wesmen Athletics, will assume the role of Acting Athletic Director. Read more...
