In Memoriam, Alvina Block
The Centre for Rupert's Land Studies regrets to announce the passing of long-time member, Dr. Alvina Block. Alvina completed her MA thesis at the University of Winnipeg in 1997 with the successful defense of her thesis, "George Flett, Native Presbyterian Missionary: 'Old Philosopher'/ 'Rev'd Gentleman.' She went on to complete her PhD at the University of Manitoba in 2006, with her dissertation titled, "Changing Attitudes: Relations of Mennonite Missionaries with Native North Americans 1880 - 2004." Alvina will be sorely missed.
