Silvia Teresita Hernández Godoy

Biography:

Silvia Teresita Hernández Godoy (Ph.D., University of Havana) is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Winnipeg. Her academic training includes a BA in History (Magna cum laude, University of Havana, 1994), a Diploma in Anthropology (Casa de América, Madrid, Spain, 2000), an MA in History of Cuba, Latin America and the Caribbean (University of Havana, 2003), and a PhD in Historical Sciences (Research Award, Committee on Social Sciences, University of Havana, 2014). She is a member of the Caribbean Research Institute at the University of Winnipeg. She is currently conducting archaeological research in the Canímar River Basin, Matanzas, Cuba.

Research Interests:

Archaeology of the Caribbean, History of Archaeology, Archaeological Heritage, Historical and cultural processes of the Caribbean.
