Ulises M. González Herrera

Biography:
Ulises M. González Herrera studied a Bachelor's degree in History (2012), a Master's degree in Anthropology (2009) and a PhD in Historical Sciences (2012) at the Faculty of Philosophy and History of the University of Havana, Cuba. He is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Anthropology at the University of Winnipeg, Canada, and an Associate Researcher at the Department of Archaeology at the Cuban Institute of Anthropology. His research interests focus on ethnohistorical studies and the analysis of the techno-typological and morphological-functional aspects of ground stone technology.
He has 23 years of professional experience in active research, where he has worked as Director of research projects and integrated numerous surveys and excavations at archaeological sites in Cuba and other Latin American countries. He is an advisor on research projects and programs and member of the Caribbean Research Institute (CRI), affiliated with the University of Winnipeg, Canada (2018), Doctoral Program Committee, Martha Abreu de Las Villas Central University, Villa Clara (2018) and of the Scientific Council of the Cuban Institute of Anthropology (2015). Integrates the Registry of Professional Archaeologists of Cuba.
It has been systematically collaborator of research projects with other prestigious national and international institutions such as the Conservation, Restoration and Museology Center (CENCREM), Archeology Cabinet of the Historian's Office of Havana, Faculty of Biology and Anthropological Museum Montané of the University of Havana, House of Cuban Nationality and Museum Network of Bayamo, Granma, Research and Development Group of the Provincial Directorate of Culture of Matanzas, Institute of Geology and Paleontology (IGP - CITMA), Institute of History of Cuba, San Gerónimo University College of Havana, Faculty of Historical Studies of the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, Department of Archeogenetics of the Institute for Institute for Human Science and History Max Planck, Jena, Germany and The Department of Anthropology of the University of Winnipeg, Canada, among others.
The results of the research work materialize in the publication of more than twenty scientific articles in specialized scientific journals and editorial contributions in various books. He has been editor, author and co - author of various monographs. Similarly, it has presented research results at more than 25 national and international presentations.
