April 25 - May 17, 2024
Closing reception: Thursday, May 16, 3:00 - 5:30 p.m.
Remarks at 3:30 p.m.
WHAT WE MAKE IV is an exhibition of visual artforms shown in Gallery 1C03 that have been produced by current faculty, staff, and students of The University of Winnipeg. We invited participants to respond to the question: what does equity, diversity and inclusion mean to you? This call for submissions has resulted in a varied sampling of creative work by several individuals from the University’s community. Exhibit visitors can expect to see painting, photography, prints, film, mixed media constructions, beadwork, textiles and more.
Participating artists include: Joffrey Abainza, Kelly Abalus, Arshnoor Arshnoor, Janice Reyes Bain, Rachel Berg, Ruby Bruce, Gwamile Dhlamini, Sarah DeLaronde, Razia Zaman Ela, Gabriel Fars, Naomi Gillis, Donathello Gualy, Curie Gupta, Alex Hadeon, Melaak Haileselassie, Kristen A. Hardy, Megan Lindell, Alex Nguyen, Kevin Smith, Dee Wallace.
Please stop by the gallery to enjoy the creative talents of our community.
And be sure to join us to celebrate the artists and the start of PRIDE on campus with a closing exhibit reception at the Gallery on Thursday, May 16 between 3:00 and 5:30 p.m.! There will be complimentary refreshments and a formal program with remarks by Gallery 1C03's Director/Curator Jennifer Gibson and the University of Winnipeg's Research Program Officer of EDI, Anti-Racism, & Decolonization Larissa Wodtke.
Gallery 1C03 hours: Monday – Friday, 12:30 – 3:30 p.m. Exhibition continues until May 17.
