The Department of Criminal Justice is pleased to present Dr. Kevin Walby & Dr. Jamie Brownlee: "How to Write a Freedom of Information Request."

Dr. Kevin Walby (UW, Criminal Justice) and Dr. Jamie Brownlee (Carleton University) will present a workshop on Freedom of Information (FOI) and Access to Information (ATI) legislation. The presentation will include a summary of why FOI and ATI laws are useful resources, followed by a talk on how to use FOI / ATI to retrieve information. We will discuss how you can incorporate FOI / ATI requests into your own research. This will be followed by a hands-on lesson where we will go through the process of creating and submitting an FOI request.
