This professional development seminar will provide students in the third and fourth years of their undergraduate degree an opportunity to learn about the transition from undergraduate studies into the professional world of graduate school. The seminar will offer skills that prepare students for success in their future educational endeavours. Students who are considering applying to graduate school are encouraged to bring questions and to participate in the discussion.
The seminar will feature a presentation by Deanna England from the UWinnipeg Faculty of Graduate Studies about applying for funding, and a presentation from Amelia Curran, former UWinnipeg CJ student, current Sociology PhD student, about crafting a statement of purpose and other elements of a graduate school application.
