Introducing our new Associate Dean
Thu. Aug. 24, 2017
Dr. Catherine Taylor is Professor of Rhetoric & Communications, Professor of Education, and Director of the RISE Research Program on LGBTQ-inclusive Education. As of July 1, 2017, she has added another title to her name—that of Associate Dean of Arts. “I’m very pleased to have Catherine join the Deans’ Office,” says Dr. Glenn Moulaison, Dean of Arts. “Her deep knowledge of university governance as well as her extensive experience as a national research leader will serve the Faculty well.”
Dr. Jaqueline McLeod Rogers, Chair of Rhetoric, Writing, and Communications, shares that view. “When I speak of Catherine, I am speaking of an esteemed colleague and long-time friend. She is judicious and insightful and will bring these strengths to her work as an administrator, much as she has brought them to teaching and researching”. Dr. McLeod Rogers goes on to say that “In addition to overseeing bold and ambitious LGBTQ research that has and will truly change lives for the better, she has a gift for listening carefully to others and for talking with sense and humour—how many can quote Wallace Stevens and Tennyson without pause, with equal ease?”
