The Departments of Classics, Philosophy, and Women's and Gender Studies and the Disability Studies Program welcomed a new Department Assistant (DA), Angela McGillivray.
Angela completed a BA (Hons) in English and an MA in Cultural Studies here at UWinnipeg. She then worked as a copywriter and account manager at a local marketing communications firm for seven years before returning to the University. Angela is excited to put her multi-tasking and organizational skills to work for the great faculty, staff and students in the Departments of Classics, Philosophy, and Women’s and Gender Studies, as well as the Disability Studies program.
Dr. Matt Gibbs, Chair of the Classics Department, states that "We are very, very happy to welcome Angela as the new DA in CLAS/PHIL/WGS and DS. She has a great deal of administrative experience in a fast-paced environment, and of course as a graduate of UWinnipeg, she is well aware not only of the challenges that we face here, but also of the advantages. He adds that, "Angela’s already made a huge impact in the way that we’re working, and we are exceptionally pleased to have someone with her skills working alongside us."
