Meet Landon Mellum, new Department Assistant in the Department of Criminal Justice.

We are fortunate to welcome Landon Mellum, Department Assistant in the Department of Criminal Justice, to the University of Winnipeg and the Faculty of Arts. Mr. Mellum began his new role earlier this year and has been quick to make a positive impression on Dr. Kelly Gorkoff, Chair of Criminal Justice. Dr. Gorkoff shares that “The Criminal Justice Department is delighted to welcome London to our team,” adding that “His extensive office skills, budgeting experience, and calm demeanor have already benefited our department.”

Landon joined the university in the spring of 2024, relocating from Brandon with his partner to be closer to family and explore new opportunities. He has taken on the role of Department Assistant in the Criminal Justice Department, bringing over a decade of experience in administrative positions. Landon has developed a diverse skill set through roles in office administration, clerical accounting, and contract administration. Since joining his department, he has felt welcomed by his colleagues, who have made the transition to the university both smooth and enjoyable.
Outside of work, Landon has a passion for travel and an interest in fiction films and novels. He also has a keen interest in home design and renovation, eagerly anticipating his next project in Winnipeg. An avid outdoors enthusiast, Landon also enjoys kayaking, hiking, and spending quality time at the lake, reflecting his love for nature and adventure.
Landon is thrilled to be a part of the university community and looks forward to growing into his role while continuing to connect with the wonderful people here. He is excited about the opportunities ahead and is eager to contribute to the vibrant environment on campus.
