Judy Graham
Judy Graham has served her students and The University of Winnipeg since 1986, taking on a variety of roles that have greatly contributed to UWinnipeg's self-governance. She also served tirelessly on numerous committees before her retirement in Spring 2010.
Graham exemplified integrity, attention to detail, compassion and a willingness to go beyond the call of duty. As an administrator, she helped create a student-centered environment.
Her dedicated committee work has contributed to the efficiency of UWinnipeg; just a few of committees that have benefitted from her participation include: the Research Committee of the Board of Regents, the Senate Ethics Committee, the Senate Appeals Committee, the GFC Honours Committee, and the Financial Appeals Committee. Graham also served on various search committees including the Dean of Student Services and the Vice President, Academic.
Graham understood that committees devoted to academic regulations directly affect students and worked diligently to ensure that these decisions would better serve students and the university.
She provided the strong foundation on which many committees relied due to her knowledge of procedures and past practices coupled with her keen desire to ensure that rules be applied firmly, fairly and consistently. Her honed problem-solving skills were an asset in any situation, which helped her negotiate successfully with all parties involved, benefiting the committees she served.
The University of Winnipeg is proud to present Judy Graham with The Robin H. Farquhar Award for Excellence in Contributing to Self-Government for her many contributions to UWinnipeg for close to a quarter of a century.
