She takes on many extra tasks — chairing and serving on numerous committees, including for United Way campaigns, Thrive Week, UWinnipeg Pride, Future Student Night, convocations and community holiday dinners.
She plays an instrumental role in University’s work to address sexual violence on our campus. She has facilitated the delivery of the Upstander training program which reaches hundreds of students and staff annually. She continues to be part of the sexual violence response team and coordinates or presents at a wide array of orientation sessions across campus. Johnson Mychasiw is particularly passionate about accessibility and wellness services on campus, and capably does media interviews on these topics on behalf of the University. She also was a member of the UWinnipeg bargaining team to negotiate the AESES contract in 2015.
