Biography:

Graduated in History from the University of Havana, Cuba in 1994; Master in History of Cuba, Latin America and the Caribbean (2002) and Doctor in Historical Sciences (2014) in the afore mentioned institution. Diploma in Anthropology in 2000 from Casa de América, Madrid, Spain. She is currently a Senior Researcher of the Research and Development Group (UDI) of the Provincial Directorate of Culture of Matanzas, president of its Scientific Council and is a member of the List of Professionals of Archeology on the Island. In the teaching field, she is a Professor of the University of Matanzas and is part of the master's programs of that center and of the University of Cienfuegos. She is a member of the Speleological Society (SEC), the National Union of Historians (Unhic), the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (Uneac), the Friends of the Country Economic Society (SEAP), of the Caribbean Research Institute of the University of Winnipeg, Canada and the editorial committee of the archaeological Cuba magazines and the Matanzas Cultural Research Yearbook.

She has worked in various research projects as a member and as a director related to the pre-colonial and colonial history of Matanzas; and the inventory, management and conservation of the Matanzas archaeological heritage. In the museological space, she has worked on the conception of various museum projects and the study of archaeological collections. She has been a systematic collaborator of research projects with prestigious national and international institutions such as the Cuban Institute of Anthropology (Ican), the Faculty of Biology of the University of Havana, the Cabinet of Archeology of the Office of the Historian of Havana, the Autonomous Metropolitan University of Mexico, the Department of Archeology and Prehistory of the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain and the Department of Anthropology of the University of Winnipeg, Canada.
