Statement from the English Language Program:

We regret to inform you that the English Language Program (ELP) is closing. Due to changes in federal policies, the university has been facing significant financial challenges, which resulted in the difficult decision to stop future programming. Programming that is currently in progress will continue until April 2025.

We understand this news may come as a disappointment, but these necessary changes are being made as a broader effort to ensure UWinnipeg remains financially stable while continuing to provide students with an exceptional university education.

Thank you for supporting ELP at UWinnipeg, it has been a pleasure to help international students achieve their goals for over 58 years. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this closure. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to infoelp@uwinnipeg.ca.

UWinnipeg's English Language Program (ELP) delivers high quality programming to international and domestic students seeking to enhance their English proficiency. ELP offers a certificate program for those seeking to teach English as an additional language to adults, as well as customized programming and private tutorials — including communication coaching and workplace communication skills enhancement for internationally-educated professionals.
