Biography:
Catherine Hunter earned her BA(Hons) from the UW and an MA and PhD from the University of Victoria. Her latest work is the poetry collection St. Boniface Elegies, winner of the Lansdowne Prize for Poetry in the 2020 Manitoba Book Awards and shortlisted for the Governor General’s Award for Poetry. Her essays, reviews, and creative work have appeared in several Canadian journals, including most recently the short story “Calling You” in Prairie Fire 41.1 (April 2020). She has had the extraordinary good fortune to teach literature and creative writing in the UW English department since 1991.
