BA in Creative Writing Students Pursue Graduate Studies Across Canada

Every year, some of our Creative Writing graduates go on to pursue graduate studies across the country.
Molly Cross-Blanchard, who graduated with a BA in English (Creative Writing) in 2016, is entering the second year of her Master's program in Creative Writing at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, with a 2018 Joseph Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship awarded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). In addition, Molly has been awarded Aboriginal Graduate Fellowship funding from UBC.
Former Creative Writing student Carolyn Gray, a successful playwright, has been awarded a 2018 Joseph Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship from SSHRC to continue her Master’s program in Creative Writing at the University of Saskatchewan.
English (Creative Writing) graduate Joel Ferguson (2018), writer and the editor of the journal juice 18, is enrolled in the MA program in English Literature at Concordia University in Montreal, where he has chosen their creative thesis option. Joel has been awarded a merit scholarship, a teaching assistantship, and a research mentorship at Concordia.
Hannah Green, who graduated with a BA in English in 2018, has been accepted into the Concordia University's MA program in English, Creative Writing option. Hannah has been awarded Concordia's Mentor Award, a Merit Scholarship, the Ruth and David Steinberg Graduate Scholarship for Creative Writing, and the Concordia University Faculty of Arts and Science Fellowship.
Christopher Wyman is enrolled in a two-year MA program at the University of Manitoba, with the first year dedicated to coursework and the second to working on a creative thesis. Chris’s many accomplishments at UW have won him a Manitoba Graduate Fellowship.
Chloe Philippot is starting her Master’s at the University of Alberta’s department of Educational Psychology. Chloe graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a B.A. Honours in Psychology and a 4-year English Creative Writing degree. Chloe is contracted as a research assistant at U. of A.
Perry Reimer is currently a Master’s student, funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) with a Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship. Perry is studying at the University of New Brunswick, where he has held the position of Poetry Editor and currently holds the position of Managing Editor of the nationally distributed literary journal Qwerty Magazine.
