The Editorial Team for juice 20
Thu. Nov. 21, 2019
We are happy to introduce our editorial team for juice 20.
Anne Caprice B. Claros is in her final year here at the University of Winnipeg. She is extremely excited to share her love for writing with her fellow students. Anne has been published in juice several times and has volunteered for the journal often over the years. She hopes that through her work with juice, especially as Editor of the upcoming issue, juice 20, she will help to bridge the gap between the diverse communities on campus and produce a quality journal that best represents the voices and talents here at UW. She also hopes to encourage the lively tradition of juice open mics where students of all different backgrounds can gather in a safe place to share their creative work: poetry, prose, play excerpts, songs, theatre acts, etc. She intends to foster and grow the juice community as a welcoming and fully-accepting one, to help her fellow students to enjoy and take part in a creative community like the one that first welcomed her
Alyssa Johnson is currently in the middle of a Double Honours degree in English and Classics. She previously attended the Faculty of Music at U of M, but has found a better fit here at UW. In her spare time, she teaches singing, and is part of a community choir. Alyssa has always had a passion for reading and writing, and she has great interest in the editing process, a passion that she first discovered as Head Editor of her high school newspaper. She is a firm believer that Winnipeg has the most to offer in terms of the creative arts, and is thrilled to be a member of the juice 20 team this year. Alyssa currently lives in the North End with her husband, two cats, and a dog.
Ella Nguyen is a creative writing student at the University of Winnipeg. She likes to read love stories most of all (not necessarily the romantic ones). And she loves to write. This is Ella’s first time working with juice and she's very much looking forward to reading all the exciting forthcoming submissions, and working with the diverse and exciting writing community on campus.
During Winter term, the juice 20 team and volunteers will be visiting classrooms to tell students about the opportunities to write for and be involved with our creative journal. All UW writers are invited and encouraged to submit their work (poetry, short fiction, dramatic sketches, and art work) to juice 20. And we hope that you’ll be inspired to get involved in the juice community as a volunteer. For more information please visit the juice journal page here on the Dept. of English website, and join juice on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
