Christopher Petty Presented on Doug Liman’s Time Loop Plots at Lancashire U

Professor Chris Petty presented a paper at the After Fantastika conference, July 6, 2018, at Lancaster University, U.K.  Fantastika is a journal of science fiction, fantasy, horror, and other speculative genres. The paper—titled “Towards a Poetics of the Time Loop Plot: Logic, Learning, and Memory in Edge of Tomorrow”— explored reasons for the resonance and prevalence of time loop plots in science fiction and fantasy cinema, with particular reference to the Doug Liman film and narrative determinism.
