Our annual traditional pow wow provides us with the opportunity to honour the work of our students, staff, faculty, and the community that has made it possible for our students to be successful. Reclaimed: Indo-Caribbean HerStories is a mixed-media ceramic-based exhibition by Heidi McKenzie that illuminates the power, courage and strength of Indo-Caribbean women, past and present. Through a feminist lens, the exhibition narrates the little-known histories of Indo-indentureship in the mid-19th and early 20th centuries.
The University of Winnipeg Faculty Association is holding the first-ever Harry Crowe Lecture. This year's speaker is Dr. Eve Haque from York University, giving a lecture entitled "Navigating Current Constraints on Academic Freedom". The lecture will be held at the Winnipeg Art Gallery . Doors open at 6 p.m. and the lecture begins at 7 p.m.
