Dr. Yangjun Chen is a professor in the Department of Applied Computer Science at The University of Winnipeg. He obtained his bachelor of science degree in information system engineering from the Technical Institute of Changsha, China, in 1982, and a diploma and PhD in computer science from the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany, in 1990 and 1995, respectively.
Chen worked as a post-doctor at the Technical University of Chemnitz-Zwickau in Germany between 1995 and 1997 before becoming a senior engineer at the German National Research Center of Information Technology. Prior to joining UWinnipeg, he taught at the University of Alberta.
Chen's research interests include deductive databases, federated databases, document databases, constraint satisfaction problem, graph theory and combinatorics. He has roughly 180 publications in these areas.Research Expert
