Master of Marriage and Family Therapy
Dr. Narumi Taniguchi, Graduate Program Director
On behalf of the Master of Marriage and Family Therapy program’s faculty, staff and instructors, I would like to express HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our 2021 graduates!
You made it through a long and rigorous education and clinical training. I know you have many stories to tell about your journey of becoming therapists, and we have stories too. One of the stories that we are going to remember is that you learned to provide tele-therapy in a matter of a few weeks when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, while the entire MFT field was skeptical about distance therapy, and you proved that it works! You are graduating with skills for in-person therapy AND tele-therapy. You are joining the MMFT alumni community of dedicated helping professionals who are making a difference in people’s lives and expanding our profession in Manitoba and beyond. This is not how we wanted to send you off, but the COVID-19 pandemic gave us a challenge/opportunity to maintain and foster connections in a drastically changing world. So please stay in touch. Remember, this is your home, the MMFT home. We wish you the very best on your journey!

Debbie Wiebe: “I want to recognize all my fellow classmates throughout my time in the MMFT program. Grad school requires an incredible amount of commitment and courage, and I could not have made it without the connections and friendships that I have made here. Thank you! We did it!! Congratulations!”
