Kim Anderson
Dr. Kim Anderson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Indigenous Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University. Her popular book, A Recognition of Being: Reconstructing Native Womanhood (Sumach/CSPI, 2000), is currently under development for a second edition. She is also the co-author of Strong Women Stories: Native Vision and Community Survival (with Bonita Lawrence, Sumach Press, 2003). Anderson has published over thirty book chapters and journals articles; her research interests lie in the areas of health and well-being of Indigenous families, gender and Indigenous peoples, community-based Indigenous research, oral history and Indigenous knowledge translation, and Indigenous environmental knowledge. She is currently the Principal Investigator on a SSHRC Partnership Development Grant entitled “Biidwewidam Indigenous Masculinities."
