2025-26 Convocation Awards Nomination Form
There are several Spring Convocation awards that require nomination for graduating students whose record combines academic distinction and service to the community of Winnipeg.
These awards are open to all undergraduate students who are graduating in June 2026, or graduated in October 2025 or February 2026.
Selections will be made by committee in collaboration with the Awards and Financial Aid Office.
Faculty, staff, or students may nominate a graduating student. Self-nominations are also accepted.

Bhai Kahan Singh Nabha Prize - $500
Given to a student with high academic achievement, who has studied the religion, history, politics, theology, or human rights of South Asia, as an undergraduate or within the Global College at The University of Winnipeg. Preference will be given to students who have shown a particular interest in Punjabi culture and/or Sikh religion. This award is established by the Bhai Kahan Singh Nabha Foundation Inc., in recognition of the achievements of Bhai Kahan Singh Nabha, whose works include Mahan Kosh (Encyclopedia of the Sikh Literature), the standard guide books for understanding Sikhism.
The Mayor's Medal - Medal
Awarded to a graduating student whose record combines academic distinction and service to the community of Winnipeg; students whose service to the community derives from their study of urban issues may be given special consideration.
The O.T. Anderson Award - Trophy
This award was established by the Class of ‘62 in memory of Professor O.T. Anderson, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science, United College, from 1926 to 1958. It is given to an outstanding graduate for distinguished academic and extra-curricular achievement during their undergraduate degree.
The Stars of Spence Awards - $500
Given to a student who works to make a difference on The University of Winnipeg campus through their passion and commitment to supporting students in achieving their educational goals. This award is connected to the annual announcement of The Star of Spence Street Prize for staff. Both awards embody the principles of student engagement and active participation with students on campus.
