Britney Champagne

My name is Britney Kara Ann Champagne. I am 25 years old and currently hold a Bachelor of Education. I was born and raised in Manitoba and have lived outside Winnipeg for the majority of my life. One thing you must know is I love to dye my hair fun colours!

I am a Ukrainian and Red River Métis woman, but I didn't always know this. When I was younger, my family didn't talk about our Métis ancestry. It was a taboo topic, and my dad didn't want my sisters and me to experience the same hardships he did. Now, I am proud to say that I have embraced my culture and heritage.

I plan to integrate my background in education with my Métis heritage while pursuing my Master's in Development Practice. I am excited to explore new and innovative research and feel grateful for this opportunity.
