The International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD) was held at Columbia University, New York City on September 23-24th, 2015, co-hosted by the Master’s in Development Practice Global Association and the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN). The conference theme was Implementing the SDGs: Getting Started, and it focused on identifying and sharing practical, evidence-based solutions that can support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The seventeen global goals, ratified by UN last week, provide the world with a 15-year development agenda to tackle poverty, climate change and inequality. Four University of Winnipeg MDP students were accepted to present at this prestigious conference, alongside academics, development practitioners, UN and government officials, and MDP students from around the world. The four students were: Adesuwa Ero, Barbara Gardner, Leah McDonnell and Busola Olaniyan. Congratulations to the UWinnipeg MDP students for their thought provoking presentations. |
