Population Council, Kenya

Rachel Bach worked at the Population Council’s Kenya Office located in Nairobi. The mandate of the Population Council is to conduct research that addresses critical health and development issues.

Rachel had the opportunity to learn firsthand about the role and structure of large global health research organizations in improving policies and programs. Rachel worked with the Reproductive Health research team, mentored by of Dr. B. Bellows, and completed a research project and report on barriers to obstetric fistula treatment in developing countries that will be submitted for publication and provides the groundwork for future interventions and initiatives.
