International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD)

Adesuwa Ero worked with the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) based in Winnipeg, an international think tank promoting human development and environmental sustainability. She was assigned a project called We are Cities (an initiative of the Cities for People group), a nationwide campaign engaging Canadians in ways of shaping a vision and action plan for how can more liveable cities be built. Her project specifically was to engage Winnipeg youth in a conversation on ways of making Winnipeg more livable in terms of living, working and playing.

She states: "Working with IISD was extremely pivotal in helping me build new skills, better understanding of city metrics, broader knowledge of indigenous-led development as well as knowledge of Winnipeg local organizations and how to situate myself within the broad scheme of things."
