Murri Mura Aboriginal Corporation
Murri Mura Inc. is an organization with a long history of political activism in Brisbane, Australia. For decades, the agency has operated as a meeting space for local First Nations communities to discuss political strategy, engage in debate on current governmental policies and a space for community education and capacity building.
In line with these objectives, Trudie Broderick was involved in a diverse set of activities during her placement including: community networking, education, legal research and drafting documents. However, the primary focus was to assist in the development of an appropriate legal structure for the newly forming Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women’s Council of Queensland (ATSIWC).
