NORDIK Institute

Paige Sillaby was hosted at the NORDIK (Northern Ontario Research, Development, Ideas and Knowledge) Research Institute at Algoma University in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. She provided guidance and support to Thessalon First Nation in organizing and promoting a showcase event on their Bio Centre (green houses) relating to the exploration of community and economic development opportunities. In addition, she helped process data related to an asset mapping exercise which was collected within the community. Paige's placement touched on issues of First Nations governance, event planning, and Indigenous economic development research.
