Gang Action Interagency Network (GAIN)

Esther Awotwe worked with Gang Action Interagency Network (GAIN) for her Canadian field placement. Her role involved conducting research on existing mentorship programs in Winnipeg and across North America and recommending best practices that GAIN can adopt. Esther conducted key informant interviews with mentorship coordinators, directors and mentors in partner network organizations and agencies in Winnipeg. She also analyzed information gathered from the youth consultation to incorporate in her final report. Esther assisted in the facilitation of working committee meetings and gave presentations on her project to the mentorship working committee. Finally, Esther developed a mentorship program for GAIN based on her findings from the research.
