Cofan Survival Fund

Amanda Appasamy worked with the Cofán Survival Fund in Ecuador for her international field placement. She was involved in the following activities:

  • The promotion of bio-trade of the Amazonian River turtle and the turtle conservation project in the Cuyabeno Reserve Amazon;
  • Preparation of a management plan to present to the Ministry of Environment;
  • Communication with owners of eco-tourism lodges in Cuyabeno reserve for the promotion of the project;
  • Meetings with the ministry of Environment to obtain legal permission for the realization of the project and;
  • Grant applications for funding of existing projects.
