Tara Myran was fortunate to have the opportunity to do her field placement working on a research project with Portage & Main Press.

The title of the research project is “Exploring the Reconciliation Potential of Marketing in the Publishing Industry." This field placement had provided her with many tools and skills needed to have the ability to conduct a research project. Throughout this field placement there were opportunities to participate in workshops such as Umobilize which really helped her in terms of doing research in a good way. She feels that she now has the confidence to work on research projects in the future because the MDP Program equipped her in her first year with the academic aspect while the field placement gave her more hand on learning.
