Newcomer Employment and Education Development Services
Bunmi Afolabi with Newcomer Employment and Education Development Services (N.E.E.D.S) for her domestic field placement. She worked directly with the Research and Development Unit on a program evaluation project. She was tasked with creating a Monitoring and Evaluation plan that would be used to evaluate some of the programs and services delivered by N.E.E.D.S.
Bunmi engaged in fieldwork by visiting some of the program delivery sites to observe how the programs were implemented and how clients engaged with the content. She also spoke to program staff and facilitators to identify challenges in program delivery and structure.
At the end of her field placements, Bunmi developed an Evaluation Logic Model, an evaluation matrix, and survey tools that N.E.E.D.S will utilize in assessing the programs and services to ensure that it is relevant and appropriate to the client’s needs.
“Through this placement, I have gained new skills in creating evaluation tools and have also learnt the importance of program evaluation in helping an organization measure its efficiency and effectiveness.”
