Options Bytown
Molly Damiani completed her field placement with Options Bytown in Ottawa, Ontario. Options Bytown is a supportive housing provider that helps people get out of shelters into stable, permanent housing. Last year Options Bytown produced a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). Molly’s field placement was focused on implementing components of this plan. Activities included completing a grant application, proposing communications and plans for National Indigenous Peoples Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, developing land acknowledgement guidelines, and drafting a monitoring and evaluation plan for year one of the RAP.
“I had the opportunity to practice many skills I learned in the MDP program, including project management and monitoring and evaluation. I would recommend Options Bytown as a placement partner for students interested in housing initiatives and reconciliation action planning.”
