Knowledge Mobilization and Research Impact - Series

Session 3 – Inclusive Knowledge Mobilization

Presenter: Dr. Nora Casson | Professor, Geography

In this webinar, we will explore the importance of inclusivity in knowledge mobilization and how to integrate equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) principles into your research. We will aim to understand EDI in relation to research, identify a research methodology that supports inclusive knowledge mobilization, and implementation of practical steps to ensure ethical conduct when working with EDI groups. Key takeaways will include the necessity of considering inclusivity in knowledge mobilization, the importance of practicing reflexivity and examining your positionality before beginning research and choosing methodologies that facilitate inclusive knowledge mobilization. The session will also cover how to plan and ensure ethical conduct, particularly when working with Indigenous communities and other equity-deserving groups.
