The University of Winnipeg's Sustainable Purchasing Guidelines outline product specifications, targets, and waste management practices to ensure responsible purchasing and life-cycle handling of goods and services bought with University funds. Applicable to all employees engaged in purchasing, these guidelines cover operating, capital, research, and trust funds.

Overseen by the Vice President, Finance and Administration, the guidelines focus on the University's top five non-durable and top three durable goods categories, excluding products from property renovations and maintenance. By promoting ethical procurement, waste reduction, and sustainability, these guidelines support the University's broader environmental goals.
