Poverty and the Law Class heard from Ms Cora Morgan, Executive Director Onashewewin

On Wednesday, September 27, 2023, the Poverty and the Law Class heard from Ms Cora Morgan, Executive Director Onashewewin and former ED of the First Nations Family Advocates Office of the AMC.

Cora shared her perspectives on the human impact of systemic barriers within the child welfare and the criminal justice system and their link to the gross overrepresentation of First Nation children in both systems. She also outlined her experience in using multi-pronged advocacy tools including listening to community voices, media, social media, political advocacy and litigation.
