Peer Wellness Educators

Peer Wellness Educators are dedicated to raising awareness around mental health and wellness on campus with the aim of fostering safety and inclusion, building community, and protecting against the stressors and adversity that fellow students may face. They participate in the promotion of mental health and wellness education on campus through planning and participating in outreach initiatives throughout the year.  Join us for this upcoming webinar:

Connecting with a Peer Wellness Educator 

NEW! University of Winnipeg students are now able to connect one-to-one with a Peer Wellness Educator. Peer Wellness Educators provide a space to listen, facilitate discussions on various health and wellness topics, share information and resources, and encourage students to seek help when needed.

A Peer Wellness Educator may be helpful and appropriate if you:

  • Would like a private place to talk about your stressors with someone who shares the experience of being a student
  • Are interested in gaining more information about your health (i.e. mental, physical, sexual health) and general well-being
  • Are looking for strategies around coping and managing stress
  • Would like help navigating resources and supports both on and off campus

A Peer Wellness Educator is NOT appropriate if you:

  • Need ongoing support for complex mental health concerns or diagnoses
  • Are experiencing a crisis
  • Are having thoughts of suicide or self-harm
