Dr. Alan Kam-Leung Chan is an alumnus of The University of Winnipeg (BA 78) and Dean of the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Previously, he was Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education at the National University of Singapore.
His current research centers on early Chinese philosophy and religion, especially Confucianism and Daoism. After his studies at UWinnipeg, he earned a MA from the University of Manitoba in 1981, and a PhD from the University of Toronto in 1986.
