The University of Winnipeg welcomes students of all backgrounds and ages– including Adult Learners (students who have been out of school for at least 3 years). Check out Adult Learners: A welcome part of the UWinnipeg Community - Adult Learner Brochure [PDF].
Many adult learners find UWinnipeg to be a great fit for them. The location is convenient, the programming and faculty first-rate, and the great supports here make the transition back to school so much easier.

"The University of Winnipeg is known for supporting its students and for the personal service the staff at all levels provide to the students. At UWinnipeg, students are not just a number. I have always been impressed with how accessible the professors make themselves to students and I have heard this from many other students.
The Coordinator of Adult Learner Services and RPL was instrumental in assisting me throughout the entire PLAR process. As well, the professors were willing to take the time to assess the material provided in the applications. In light of the success of my PLAR applications and ongoing courses I am taking at UWinnipeg, I have decided to continue my education beyond a BA and enrolled in the Honours Sociology program. I am seriously considering Graduate studies.
Thank you to The University of Winnipeg for the opportunity to resume my education and for the support from the PLAR program in acknowledging my prior learning and experience. Returning to University at this point in my life has been immensely rewarding."
