Lab Exemptions

Starting in 2023-24, lab exemptions may be available for some biology courses but certain criteria apply:

• Students must have obtained a passing grade in the lab component during their previous attempt
• The previous attempt must have been completed within the past three academic years and at the University of Winnipeg.
• Students must have submitted and obtained a grade above 0% on all lab assessments.

Before completing the form below, please note this important information:

• Exempt students will be responsible for ensuring they know the required lab-related information should any material be jointly covered or assessed in lecture.
• The lab grade from the previous attempt will be used in the calculation of their final grade for the course.
• All fees associated with the course, including lab fees, will still apply.
• Application must be made before the end of the add/drop period.

Not all biology courses are eligible for lab exemptions.
