Information for Employers
"Hiring a University of Winnipeg Co-op student is good for business!"
There are many reasons that organizations hire UWinnipeg Co-op students. One reason is that it gives organizations the ability to professionally fill a temporary void during the busy summer months without a long-term commitment. Co-op students are motivated, eager for hands-on experience and are able apply the skills they've learned in the classroom. They're the latest pool of talented employees that gives organizations a head start in finding a perfect fit for their full-time hiring needs down the road.
Seven reasons to hire a UWinnipeg Co-op Student:
- Access to Top Talent: Employers gain early access to highly motivated, skilled, and knowledgeable students who are eager to apply their academic learning in a practical setting.
- Flexible Workforce: Co-op students provide a flexible, short-term staffing solution that can help manage peak workloads, special projects, or temporary staff shortages.
- Cost-Effective Recruitment: Employers can evaluate students' skills and fit with their organization during the work term, reducing hiring risks and costs for full-time positions.
- Financial Incentives: Hiring co-op students may make employers eligible for tax credits, grants, or other funding programs designed to support student employment.
- Fresh Perspectives: Students bring innovative ideas, current knowledge, and new approaches to problem-solving, directly from their academic training.
- Tailored Skill Development: Employers can mentor and develop students' skills to align with their business needs, creating a more customized and effective workforce.
- Hire from Anywhere: With the rise of remote work, employers no longer need a physical office space to hire UWinnipeg Co-op students. Whether your business is based in Winnipeg or elsewhere in Canada, our students can seamlessly integrate into your team virtually or in-person.
