The Centre
CRiCS (the Centre) was formally approved as an institutional research centre by the University of Winnipeg Senate in December 2017 and the University of Winnipeg Board of Regents in January 2018. CRiCS has an Advisory Committee comprised of Centre faculty, staff, students, and external representatives. This committee has drafted Centre policies on membership and funding, supports the Centre's Director, and oversees the Centre's long-term plans.
CRiCS is located in 3C25 at the University of Winnipeg, and features:
- A Collaborative Research and Knowledge Mobilization Lab for workshops, cultural production, curatorial design and display, other forms of research creation, in-person meetings, and video conferencing
- A connected workspace for Research Assistants
- A shared office for the Centre's Research Coordinator
- An office space for the Centre Director
- A resource room
- An interview and data storage management room
- An office space for visiting scholars and postdoctoral fellows
The Centre functions as a hub for cultural studies research on campus and includes researchers involved with the Cultural Studies Research Group (CSRG) and collaborative projects.
