Biography:
Dr. Yasin is an institutional ethnographer who focuses on research in literacy, policy enactment and teacher practice. Before becoming an assistant professor at the University of Winnipeg, Dr. Yasin was a middle and high school language arts teacher in Ontario and England as well as an adult literacy and communications instructor. Dr. Yasin is committed to building teaching and research practices that stress decolonization and ethical relationship building.

Research Interests:
Dr. Yasin has completed research in adolescent creative writing practices, teacher conceptualization of literacy in adult education contexts, L2 writing assessment and teaching practices, and the enactment of teacher professionalism policy. Dr. Yasin is currently researching the enactment of the Manitoba English Language Arts Curriculum.
